Shopping in Split, Croatia – Visiting all shopping malls

In this video, we will guide you through all the shopping places in Split, Croatia. Follow along as we visit all the shopping malls in the city, but also make stops at the green market “Pazar” and the city’s former main shopping street, Marmontova.

Here is the additional information I refer to in my video.

Shopping in the center of Split

In Split’s old town area, shopping options are limited, as most locations have been converted into food places or souvenir shops.

On the Riva of Split, there are still some jewelry shops and opticians selling sunglasses.

Marmontova Street, which used to be the main shopping street in Split, has a few shops left, one of which is a 4-floor Zara.

Green markets in Split

The Green Market I visited in the video is the main green market in Split, locally referred to as Gradska tržnica or simply Pazar.

In addition to the main green market, there are 4 other locations where you can find a green market selling local fruit, vegetables, meat, honey, and other locally produced products.

The other 4 markets are:

  • Tržnica Pazarić
  • Tržnica Sućidar
  • Tržnica Matoševa
  • Trznica Skalice

The fish market I visited in my video, is the only fish market in town, but there are several good fish shops around town, including some in the shopping malls.

Joker Shopping Mall

With the opening of the Joker Mall in 2007, the shopping “Landscape” in Split started changing. Shops moved from the center of town to the mall, and this trend escalated when City Center One and Mall of Split opened.

Some basic data about the Joker Mall:

Name: Joker Mall
Address: Put Brodarice 6
Website: https://joker.hr/
Distance from Riva: 1.7 Km

As I mentioned in my video, it is a 15-minute walk from the city center to Joker Mall. If you do not feel like walking, you can also take the bus from the Pazar near the center. The bus runs approximately every 5 minutes.

TIP: As I show in the video, the local city bus company Promet Split has an easy-to-use app, where you can also get discounted tickets.

Grocery shopping in Split

In addition to the shopping Malls, you have plenty of Supermarkets in Split, my guess would be somewhere around 40 to 50.

The following supermarket chains have shops in Split, Konzum, Interspar, Ribola, Studenac, Plodine, Lidl, Tommy, and Kaufland.

Some of the shops also have delivery.

Opening hours for the grocery shops vary, but in the summer season, some of the larger supermarkets are open from 7 am to 11 pm 7 days a week.

FAQ

Where are the best places for shopping in Split?

The best shopping areas in Split include Mall of Split, City Center One, the Old Town boutiques, and the Riva shopping streets. These offer a mix of international brands, Croatian designers, and local artisan shops.

For affordable shopping, visit City Center One, local markets like Pazar (fresh produce + clothing stalls), and seasonal pop-up shops along the Riva. Some fast-fashion brands in Mall of Split also offer budget options.

The Old Town is full of boutiques, handcrafted jewelry shops, artisan souvenirs, leather goods, and Croatian design stores—perfect for unique and local products.

Yes. You can find Croatian and international designer brands in the Old Town, as well as premium boutiques in Mall of Split and Riva area.

Head to the Green Market (Pazar), the Fish Market (Peškarija), or specialty shops in the Old Town. Supermarkets also carry good local brands.
